The Crime Writers of Canada is a national organization for Canadian crime writers, associated professionals, and anyone else with a serious interest in Canadian crime writing. Its mission is to promote Canadian crime writing and to raise the profile of Canadian crime writers from coast to coast. The CWC publishes a quarterly newsletter (Fingerprints) and a directory (In Cold Blood) of membersí books. On-line members also receive Fingerprints Online, a twice-monthly e-mail about membersí new books and activities, as well as industry news. Each year, the CWC presents the Arthur Ellis Awards, Canadaís national awards in the crime-writing field. The CWC has regional branches: the Prairies and BC chapter, based in Vancouver and Victoria; Toronto and Ottawa chapters in Ontario; and the Quebec and Maritimes chapter based in Montreal.
