Jean Rae Baxter’s short stories have appeared in Canadian anthologies, such as Revenge and Hardboiled Love (both published by Insomniac Press) and in various literary journals, winning awards from Canadian Writer’s Journal, Crime Writers of Canada, and Arts Hamilton. In 2007, she was awarded the Silver Hammer prize by Hamilton’s literary journal, Hammered Out. Seraphim Editions published her debut collection of stories, A Twist of Malice, in 2005. In 2007, Ronsdale Press published her young adult historical novel, The Way Lies North, and in 2008, Seraphim Editions released her literary murder mystery, Looking for Cardenio. She is currently completing both a sequel to her historical novel and a second collection of noir short stories, to be titled Scattered Light. Jean helps to organize Hamilton’s LiT LiVe reading series.
