NeWest Press publishes literary fiction, poetry, and drama by Canadian authors, as well as non-fiction about western Canada. NeWest Press has been a voice for the West and one of Canada's leading small publishers since it was established in 1977. A non-profit corporation, NeWest Press is made up of a Board of Directors which functions as the publisher. The board members are established writers, critics, academics, and journalists who read and solicit manuscripts for NeWest Press. Series such as the Nunatak New Fiction Series, the Prairie Play Series, and The Writer-as-Critic Series have contributed to NeWest's growing reputation in Canada and abroad.
