Yes, provided that the book is available in Canada through bookstores or on-line.
No, only your book that was published first in 2026 is eligible for the Best First Novel category. You may enter your second book in one or more of the other Best Novel categories.
Yes, you can change categories provided your request is received before the submission deadline of December 15, 2026. You must send your request to the Awards Manager - awards@crimewriterscanada.com
Yes, you may withdraw your entry by sending in your request to the Awards Manager. Please note that entry fees are not refundable.
You can submit the payment form and ask your publisher to send in the PDF copy directly to CWC on your behalf.
No, only individual members of CWC may get the 20% discount not publisher members. However, you can submit the payment form, get the discount and ask your publisher to send in the PDF copy of your book directly to CWC on your behalf.
Sorry, only CWC members in good standing are eligible for the 20% discount.
All Awards jurors commit to maintaining confidentiality and not sharing submissions received.
To qualify for the discounted entry fee for CWC members, you will need to be logged-in to your member account. Note that it is not necessary to login before submitting your entry, just before proceeding to the payment step; if you submit your entry without being logged-in, then you will be prompted to login on the confirmation page.
If you accidentally add a single entry to your "cart" more than once, the quickest way to fix it is to scroll down and click the yellow "CLEAR CART" button.
After doing that, you don't need to re-submit your entry -- as long as you still have the "Your 2027 Awards of Excellence Submission" confirmation Email. At the bottom of that Email, there should be a "PAY ONLINE" button that you can click on to go to the payment page for that entry.
