In “Santa Barbara Secrets”, Dr. Penelope Barker sells her veterinarian business and Rebecca retires from the Secret Service. They move to The Ranch, a Spanish style house in the Santa Barbara Hills, which Rebecca had purchased as an investment a decade previously. The Ranch boasts fifty-two-hundred square feet, two-stories, five bedrooms, five baths, a family room and a one-thousand square foot guest house next to an Olympic size swimming pool, garages for four cars, and landscape done and maintained by my their neighbor, retired Beverly Hills landscaper, Alejandro. The basement houses a professional, fully automatic pistol range with almost inaudible extraction fans. They develop R&P Investigations with Rebecca training Pen in firearms/defensive tactics. Their first case is a collaboration with the Santa Barbara Police Dept. and the Secret Service. Their task is to determine how American currency from Los Angeles makes its way to the Caribbean and back to the US in the form of political donations, one of the major recipients being the Christians for a Better America.
